Event 8: A lot on his Dinner Plate

$300 + $40 Seniors NLH (Re-Entry)

 Jim & Dorothy

Jim Plate and Dorothy Courten-Plate (Oakdale, NY) are back on "speaking terms" and heading to dinner break with Jim holding the chip lead.

"She saw my stack," laughs Jim who is up to 171k (71 bb) after a huge hand before the end of the last level.

Plate calls a 56k river bet shove and tank calls with a pair of 8s while holding A 8. "I didn't have a great hand, but I knew it was better than his."

The table is impressed with the call because of all the action and a draw heavy board.

Dorothy is all smiles despite Jim crippling her in the early levels that led to her elimination. "He taught me everything I know (about poker)," she says with a big smile.

The proud grandparents will enjoy the dinner break knowing Jim is well above the 59k (25 bb) average with just 18 players remaining.

It's been an extra special time for Jim & Dorothy whose daughter Ali LePrade gave birth to twin redheads Johah & Jillian one month ago.

Players are on dinner break until 7:50 pm.
