Event 18 Recap

$200 + $30 + $100 Black Chip Bounty NLH (Re-Entry)

Event 18 of the Borgata Summer Poker Open is in the books with Stephen Moy (New York, NY) coming out on top over Scott Levy (Lawenceville, NJ).  A rapid heads-up lasting only one hand with Moy flopping threes full of Aces.

"It was a lucky day for me...that's all," said Moy who maintained the chip lead from the dinner break bell to the final bell.

As the 2013 Borgata Summer Poker Open Championship played down to a winner in the same poker room, 197 bounty-hunters took their shot at the $39,400 prize pool.  Things got underway as Borgata regulars Larry Wolf, Josh Suspak, Joann Leban, Ben Laves, Dave Rosenau, and Alex Torres, amongst others, grabbed their stack of 15,000 chips along with a $100 bounty chip.

Throughout the day Stephen Moy knocked-out more players than Muhammad Ali.  In fact, Moy made his own history as he felted a total of 21 bounties.  Two key final-table knock-outs for Moy came after flopping three tens and trapping his opponents.

Gil Sacks (Bala Cynwyd, PA) finished 3rd for $3,631 and was at the table with Moy as he quietly crushed at least a dozen players.

The top eighteen players made the money with Victoria Ondis (Manasquan, NJ) as the Last Woman Standing.  Ondis ended up in 7th Place earning $1,529.

But once again congratulations goes to Stephen Moy who stacks all 2,955,000 chips to bring home $11,466 for an impressive first place performance along with $2,100 in bounties.

Although the cash-prizes are exciting, the most thrilling moment for Moy came when we presented him with the Borgata Summer Poker Open engraved trophy.  "I've never won a trophy before and that's what I'm most happy about" said Moy.  We can't wait to see his reaction once he receives his 16x20 tournament print from Image Masters - also part of his prize package.
