Event 2: 16th - Alexander; 15th - Eyzerovich

$350 + $50 + $100 Black Chip Bounty NLH (Re-Entry)

John Alexander (Montville, NJ) was all-in against Steve Eyzerovich (Staten Island, NY).

John - 88
Steve - A8

Board - A 7 5 Q 2

Steve paired his Ace to take the pot, sending John to the rail in 16th place ($968).

A few hands later, Steve was all-in for 97k and called by the player on the button.

Steve - J7 suited
Button - A9 suited

Board  - K Q 4 T 5

The button took the pot with Ace-high.  Steve took 15th place and $1,064.

Event 2: Big Stack Gets Bigger

$350 + $50 + $100 Black Chip Bounty NLH (Re-Entry)

Level 19:  Blinds 5k/1k with 1k ante.

Eighteen players remain and they have redrawn seats and moved to the final two tables.

Douglas Torrey (Boonton, NJ) was all-in pre-flop holding pocket Queens.

Chip leader David Eilers had pocket 5s.

The board ran out T 6 4 7 3 giving David a straight and the pot.  He chipped up to ~550k and collected his 13th bounty.

Douglas busted out in 18th place, earning $968.

Event 1: 18th Place - Marder ($2,480)

$350 + 50 Deep Stack NL Hold'em (Re-Entry)

Event 2: 27th - 19th Places

$350 + $50 + $100 Black Chip Bounty NLH (Re-Entry)

Earning $871
27 - Michael Murphy (Wilkes-Barre, PA)
26 - Andrey Akbashev (Rego Park, NY)
25 - Jeffrey Shultz (Olmsted Twp, OH)
24 - Zohaib Butt (Babylon, NY)

21 - David Heck (Colts Neck, NJ)
20 - Christine 'Blaze' Sazon (Virginia Beach, VA)
19 - Joseph Desimone (Liverpool, NY)

Event 1: 19th Place - Loehrs ($2,053)

$350 + 50 Deep Stack NL Hold'em (Re-Entry)

Jason Loehrs (Drexel Hill, PA) has just been eliminated, as his A K loses an all important race against pocket nines.  The remaining 18 players are finding their new seats, and they have made the pay jump (16-18 will pay $2,480).

We will bring you the updated seated assignments shortly.

Event 2: 21st - Heck; 20th - Sazon

$350 + $50 + $100 Black Chip Bounty NLH (Re-Entry)

David Heck (Colts Neck, NJ) got his last 48k in with pocket 8s.

His opponent had Q9.

A nine came on the flop giving his opponent the lead, but David picked up some straight outs.

They failed to materialize, however, and David was eliminated in 21st place ($871).  He also collected four bounties during play today.

On a flop of K 9 2, a player bet 35k and Christine 'Blaze' Sazon (Virginia Beach, VA) jammed for ~200k, getting the call.

She was ahead with pocket 9s for middle set.  Her opponent had AK for top/top.

A 2 on the turn gave Christine a full boat.

Then another King came on the river, giving her opponent Kings-full and a bigger boat, sinking hers.

Christine finished in 20th place, earning $871.

Event 1: 20th Place - Fishman ($2,053)

$350 + 50 Deep Stack NL Hold'em (Re-Entry)

Yevgeny Fishman (Staten Island, NY) is the next player to go, eliminated by Chris Farley in 20th place ($2,053).  After the next player is eliminated, the tournament floor will redraw the remaining 18 players, and we will bring you the new seating assignments.

Event 1: 21st Place - Kadet ($2,053)

$350 + 50 Deep Stack NL Hold'em (Re-Entry)

We walked over to Table 2, as Justin Kadet (New York, NY) was all-in, and Jimmy Born was debating the call.  Kadet was all-in for about 475,000, and if Born made the call and lost, it would basically leave him crippled.  Born decided to call after about four minutes in the tank, and the hands would be tabled:

Born: A 7♠           Kadet: A♣ J

Flop: 10 7 5

Turn: 9♠

River: K

Kadet would be eliminated, and had a strong opinion on the call by Born.  Justin will take home $2,053 for his finish, and Born would build his stack to just under 1,000,000.

Event 2: 27th Place - Murphy

$350 + $50 + $100 Black Chip Bounty NLH (Re-Entry)

In a three-way all-in, Mike Murphy (Wilkes-Barre, PA) was in bad shape with pocket Jacks and was up against pocket Kings and AQ.

An Ace hit the board for the main pot and the pocket Kings took the side.

Mike took the walk to the payout desk to collect $871 for 27th place.  He's also got four bounties to soften the blow.

Event 1: 22nd Place - Ginsberg ($2,053)

$350 + 50 Deep Stack NL Hold'em (Re-Entry)

As we were updated you on the chip leader remaining, we lost Marc Ginsberg (Scotch Plains, NJ) in 22nd place.  Ginsberg will take home $2,053 for his efforts.

Event 1: Chip Leader Down The Stretch

$350 + 50 Deep Stack NL Hold'em (Re-Entry)

Baruch Altman (Monsey, NY)

The chip leader among the remaining 22 players is Baruch Altman (Monsey, NY), who sits with just over 4,500,000 (~73 big blinds).

Event 1: 23rd Place - Michailidis ($2,053)

$350 + 50 Deep Stack NL Hold'em (Re-Entry)

Said Michailidis (Montreal, CAN) has just been eliminated in 23rd place, collecting $2,053 for his finish.  The tournament director has balanced the tables and play continues.

Event 1: Level Up....Tran Tanks...Two More Bust

$350 + 50 Deep Stack NL Hold'em (Re-Entry)

After Michael Marder opened the pot to 110,000, Tony Tran three-bet to 315,000 from the button.  Mark Sykes who was in the big blind asked Marder how much he was playing, and after receiving the answer (about 900,000), Sykes declared himself all-in.  Marder folded behind and Tran was deep in the tank, for about 6-7 minutes.

While Tran was thinking we lost Dixit Patel (Langhorn, PA) in 25th place ($2,480), and Joseph Ramsaroop (Rockaway, NJ) in 24th place ($2,480).

Tran would eventually fold his hand, and we'd be on to the next one.  All the while the blinds would increase in the middle of that hand to 30,000/60,000/5,000.

Event 2: In The Money

$350 + $50 + $100 Black Chip Bounty NLH (Re-Entry)

Level 18 (still): Blinds 4k/8k with 1k ante.

Time was added back to the clock to compensate for the hand-for-hand play, so this level will be extra long.

David Eilers

As of the break, David Eilers (Rocky Mtn, NC) is still the chip leader with ~440k.  He's also got 12 bounties in his pocket.

Christine "Blaze" Sazon (Virginia Beach, VA) is the only woman remaining and hence the only one the make the money in this event.

Event 1: 26th Place - Sturm ($2,053)

$350 + 50 Deep Stack NL Hold'em (Re-Entry)

Michael Sturm (West Hempstead, NY) open shoved his remaining 345,000 (less than 7 big blinds), and was called by Michael Bonney.  The rest of the table folded around, and it would be the A 7 of Sturm trailing the A K of Bonney.  The board would not give Sturm the opportunity to catch up, as Bonney would make broadway on the river.  Sturm goes home in 26th place and collects $2,053.

Event 1: 27th Place - McGarry ($2,053)

$350 + 50 Deep Stack NL Hold'em (Re-Entry)

The action is currently slow and deliberate, as we are seeing a lot of raising and taking down the blinds and antes.  We're not seeing too many flops at the moment, with chips at such a premium.  Thomas McGarry (Atlantic City) has been our most recent elimination, going home in 27th place and collecting $2,480.

Event 2: Bubble Burst

$350 + $50 + $100 Black Chip Bounty NLH (Re-Entry)

With 28 players remaining, the four tables were playing hand-for-hand on the bubble.

Jack Rapoport (Brooklyn, NY) got all-in for his last 72,100 holding pocket Aces.

He was up against a bigger stack holding pocket Jacks.

The board ran out 9 6 5 A 4 and Jack doubled up to ~145k.

While that hand was going on, a player busted out on another table, leaving 27 players, all in the money.  They are guaranteed to earn at least $871 to go with any bounties they've collected.

They were also sent on an overdue color-up break for 20 minutes.  Play will resume at 10:40 pm.

Only one player hits the rail in the last level, which are now 40 minutes long.

$350 + $50 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

After an opening raise, Joseph Ramsaroop (Rockaway, NJ) shoved for 416k.

Baruch Altman (Monsey, NY) raised to ~900k, folding the original raiser, and the hands were tabled.

Joseph - TT

$350 + $50 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

Eric Miller (Hicksville, NY) shoved for ~400k.

Diakos made the call, showing AQ.

Eric was ahead with pocket Queens.

Then an Ace landed on the flop, shipping the pot to Diakos.j

Eric busted out in 31st place, earning $1,738

Athanasios Diakos chipped up to ~2.1 million.

Event 1: 35th Place - Hovanec

$350 + $50 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

Level 26:  Blinds 20k/40k with 4k ante.

Richard Hovanec & Khoi Ta

Khoi Ta (Greenbelt PG, MD) was all-in for 857k pre-flop against Richard Hovanec (St. James, NY) who had him slightly covered.

Khoi - AK
Richard - 99

Board - 8 5 5 A T

The Ace on the turn saved Khoi's tournament life and he doubled up to ~1.8 million.

Richard was left with only about 60k and busted out soon after in 35th place, earning $1,738.

Event 2: Level Up, Barsanti-Chou Down

$350 + $50 + $100 Black Chip Bounty NLH (Re-Entry)

We see six people hit the door in the last level including Patti Barsanti-Chou (Metuchen, NJ).

That leaves Christine "Blaze" Sazon (Virginia Beach, VA) as the last woman standing and still with a healthy 200k stack.  After Barsanti-Chou's departure the table breaks and chip leader David Eilers (Rocky Mount, NC) lands on Sazon's right with more than 300k.

Currently 33 players remain, six spots from the money, with an average stack of 126k (25 bb) as blinds are now 2.5k/5k/500 ante.

Event 1: 37th Place - Corona

$350 + $50 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

Christian Goris is way out in front of the remaining 36 players.  He's stacking a mountain of about 2.5 million chips.

Eilers, Chip Leader - 265k

Players are on a one hour dinner break just 12 spots from the money.

David Eilers (Rocky Mount, N.C.) is the chip leader with 265k and one decent pot comes against Robert "Rizzi" Aronowitz (N. Merrick, NY) who says, "slow suck out" on his way to the rail.

Several other players are in the 200-220k range including Christine Sazon (Virginia Beach, VA).

$350 + $50 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

Manny Perez

Just a couple of hands before the end of level 24:

In a battle of the blinds, Manny Perez (Rego Park, NY) was the big blind.  They got to the river with a board of 53♠4♣J♠A♠ and Manny was all-in for his last 305k.

His opponent in seat 1 (small blind) had rivered the straight, but Manny had K♠4♠ and had rivered the flush.  He doubled up to ~700k.

At the end of the level, the remaining 43 players took off for a one hour dinner break.

Play will resume at 7:55 pm.

The flop was 4 3 2 with two clubs, which gave Eric four more outs with a straight draw.

An Ace came on the turn, giving Eric the lead with a pair of Aces and it looked like he was due a double-up.

Then a two-outer Queen landed on the river, giving Jason a set of Queens and the pot.  He chipped up to 1.05 million.

Eric Schutte busted out in 44th place, earning $1,502.

43 players remain.  Average stack is 804k.

Event 1: Sykes-ing Them Out

$350 + $50 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

 Michailidis (left) Looks Up
While (r-l) Sykes & Edwards Wait

While players are on break, Table 6 works overtime in a huge pot.

We pick up the action with the board showing K 4♠ 3♠ K♠ 6♣, 1.2 million in the pot and three players in the hand.

With 500k in his remaining stack, Said Michailidis (Montreal, Canada) checks as does Luke Edwards (Mansfield, OH) who has 660k left.  After going in the tank, Mark Sykes (Margate, NJ) moves all in for 500k and it creates a buzz.

A crowd gathers around the table as the hand goes well into the break.  Michailidis eventually tank-folds, while Edwards acts more quickly and shows the K♣ for trip Kings before folding.

Sykes lets out a big laugh as the railbirds beg him to show a bluff. He doesn't give up any information as he rakes the pot and is now the chip leader with 1.5 million.

Once everything settles down the 50 remaining players are back in action with an average stack of 692k (29 BB) and blinds at 12k/24k/3k ante.

Event 1: Great Escape From Table 8

$350 + $50 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

(r-l) Sykes, Loehrs and Farley
5th from the right is Altman

Table 8 is by far the deepest with more than 4 million chips total and most of them belong to four players.

Chris Farley (West Deptford, NJ) has been one of the big stacks all day with 1.1 million. On his direct left is Jason Loehrs (Drexel Hill, PA) who has 1 million, while two to Farley's left is Mark Sykes (Margate, NJ) who has 800k.

Also at the table is Baruch Altman (Monsey, NY) who is at 900k.

The short stacks are looking to hang on as they'll be breaking in the next few minutes, while the big stacks are playing it cautiously as they too don't want to get involved in a 2 million chip pot unnecessarily.

**** 4:55 update****

The broken table has Sykes and Farley flipping spots after moving to table 6; Farley is now on Sykes left as we're now down to seven tables.

$350 + $50 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

Walking the Greenfield Mile

Just after the bubble breaks Adam Greenfield (Bayside, NY) is the first to cash for $737 with his 130th place finish.

Greenfield's pocket Kings don't hold for his last 70k when two players chop the pot while each holding an ace.

Level 21 (6k/12k/2k ante) is underway and there's now a steady stream of bustouts.

Event 1: Bubble Boy Gets Paid

$350 + $50 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

Richard Leach

In a weird twist of fate, the bubble boy is Richard Leach (Washington, D.C.) and is the first player to get paid today.

Leach busts with KK against Jerry Stecher (Elmhurst, NY) who hit a wheel on the river while holding AK.  Leach heads straight to the pay window for his consolation prize of $1,000 for finishing second in chips at the end of Day 1A.

Leach spirits lift just a bit as he realizes the bonus money is better than a 64th place finish.

On his elimination hand, Leach calls a preflop raise with pocket Kings and then calls a 3-bet to 55k (blinds 5k/10k/1k ante).

On the flop of Q 7 5, Stecher open shoves 500k and covers Leach, who snap calls with 300k.

After a 3 on the turn, Stecher has the winning straight when a 5 hits the river.

"I wouldn't have done it, if I didn't have chips," says Stecher who is now close to 900k.

Leach's elimination sends the remaining 130 players into the money as they earn $737, but Leach takes home a bit more than that.

Event 1: Millionaire Maker

$350 + $50 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

Chris Farley

As the short stacks hang on for the $737 min cash, the big stacks are approaching the 1 million chip mark.

Chris Farley (West Deptford, NJ) and Khoi Ta (Greenbelt PG, MD) are both at ~950k. The big stacks looking to take advantage of some tight play as no one wants to go out as the bubble boy (or gal).

Event 1: Buzzing Along, Bubble Watch

$350 + $50 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

It doesn't take long for the field to shrink from 180 players to 133 as we're now three spots from the money.

Play is now 9-handed on 15 tables and will go hand-for-hand with two more eliminations.

Levels are now 50 minutes long as Level 19 (4k/8k/1k ante) is winding down and we approach our first break of the day.

Event 2: Brooklyn on Brooklyn Crime

$350 + $50 + $100 Black Chip Bounty NLH (Re-Entry)

 Lopez, Nothing I Can Do

"I warned her," says Junior Lopez (Brooklyn, NY) after he takes most of Guyana Petrossian's (Brooklyn, NY) chips.

Petrossian doesn't get any help when she's all in preflop with QQ vs Lopez's KK and is left with crumbs after the hand.

"I told her I would show, but she didn't believe me," says Lopez who is happy to double his stack to 30k.

"I didn't know you were from Brooklyn," says Petrossian, a friendly Borgata regular, "you shouldn't have done that to me," she laughs.

Players are back from their first break of the day as Level 4 (100/200) is underway.

Event 2: Another Day, Another Trophy

$350 + $50 + $100 Black Chip Bounty NLH (Re-Entry)

The calm before the storm has trophy hunters at the tables with a fresh start.

Many of the players are Event 1 casualties, and while disappointed they aren't playing in the noon restart with a chance to win nearly $100,000, they're pleased that there's always another Borgata tournament.

Coleem Chestnut (Brooklyn, NY) is one of those who is licking his wounds after he watched his chip lead go to Emmanuel Perez (Rego Park, NY) who enters Day 2 second overall.

"That's poker," says Chestnut who is ready to hit the reset button. He's a Borgata cash game regular and works in the computer industry.

Today's bounty tournament will be a one-day grind with 15k in chips and 30 minute levels to start (Levels 16+ / 40 min.).
