Earl King (Colts Neck, NJ)
$39,735
Earl King earned $39,735 and his first Borgata Open trophy tonight when his A4 came from behind to beat Mitchell Mantin's AJ.
The heads-up match only lasted a few minutes, but Mitchell has been playing this "two-day" event for three days.
He played day 1A and went deep, but busted out before the end of the night.
He came back on day 1B and busted out very quickly, so he was on his third entry which finally turned the corner for him. "I made three monster calls late on day 1 and was right each time." he said.
He finished day 1B as the chip leader and was the overall chip leader coming into day two today.
Earl is in the advertising business, but went through two years of training for his 'hobby' job as a paramedic. He's got a shift on Thursday, so needs to get home for some rest, but hopes to be back to play some more tournaments during this series.
