A few hands later, Vidal uses A♠ Q for the winning cards against Kostelac's 7♣ 4♣ .

"I was able to chip up because he was playing pretty tight," says Vidal who earns $28,225, his first career live tournament cash. "I played aggressive and waited for the right spots. It's fantastic."

Vidal owns a grocery store in New York City and says he got a call from his kids, Michelle, Chanel and Melinda, on Father's Day.

He plans on making a quick trip home to set the store up for the week so he can return Monday to play in Day 1B of the Championship Event.
